修道

To cultivate the way of religion; be religious; the way of self-cultivation. In the Hīnayāna the stage from (sa) anāgāmin to (sa) arhat; in Mahāyāna one of the bodhisattva stages.

謂聲聞得初果已， 復緣真諦之理， 斷欲界九品思惑， 名為修道。 即二果斯陀含、 三果阿那含也。 （思惑者， 五根對五塵， 起貪染心口思。 九品者， 於上中下三品， 每一品中又分三品， 名為九品。 梵語斯陀含， 華言一來； 謂來欲界一番受生也。 梵語阿那含， 華言不來， 謂不來欲界受生也。 ）
